It is super important that you are aware of what pattern and layout you want to achieve, before laying your tiles. Experiment a little, even. Below are a few examples of the tiles, shapes, and styles available that you can adhere to your project.
Brick Bond Metro
A classic and often used pattern for simplicity and for ease of laying. As it states within the name these tiles are laid in an off-set pattern like bricks with a height that is at least half the size of the width, using subway, square or rectangular tiles to achieve the desired look. Sometimes known as ‘brick pattern’ as is the most commonly used pattern in brickwork.

Herringbone

Stack Bond
Stack bond tiling is a popular straight tile laying pattern. Tiles can be laid both horizontally or vertically to create differential looks. Simple yet stylish.

Chequerboard

Modular
Modular, a tile pattern that is often overlooked but still used today. Is achieved by laying a network of different tile shapes, sizes, and formats to create a unique pattern on your walls and floors in any interior or exterior space. Mixing and matching various squares and rectangles to create the desired effect. Often known as flagstone tiles, will make a statement to any of your projects.
